Biography

CHIONE

Chione is a Finnish singer-songwriter known for her cinematic dark pop sound, blending rock influences, real instruments including guitars, and symbolic, emotionally rich lyrics. She released her first singles, Light and Uninvited, in August 2018. Chione studied music production at the prestigious Point Blank Music School in London and graduated as a vocal soloist from the Laajasalo Institute in Helsinki in 2017. She writes and composes all of her released songs. In recognition of her songwriting skills, Chione received a grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation in 2022.

During 2020, Chione released the singles Hey You!, Highway, and Bohemian. The songs received positive feedback, and her music has been played not only on Finnish radio but also in the UK.

She later released the singles Madness of the Gods and Paradise, the latter of which earned a spot on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist and received radio play both in Finland and internationally. Chione has collaborated for several years with Heikki Marttila (Stella) who has produced most of her songs at Gurut Studio in Joensuu. Chione also performs at various venues across Finland. Polar Night was released on November 10, 2023. She was also a lyricist and vocalist on the track Eternal by electronic music producer Jicode, released by the Slovenian label Xclusive Records in 2024.

In the fall of 2024, Chione was accepted as a member of the Finnish Music Creators Association and released Mind Games, which she wrote and recorded at The Recording Studio London. The song received airplay on international radio stations, and two of Poland's most popular radio stations, Radio ESKA and RMF MAXX, added it to their Spotify playlists. Mind Games was also added to the New Indie Music from Finland playlist by Music Finland.  Her music was also featured on a billboard in Times Square, New York, just before the New Year. In early 2025, she stayed at the artist residency of the Finnish Music Creators Association in Hollywood Hills, but had to cut her stay short due to the wildfires that caused destruction in Los Angeles.
